The nine-year battle changed her life and depleted her retirement savings. Today, at 78, she earns her living by teaching quilting and selling herbal products. She also continues her vigilance against nuclear pollution. Recently, she has been active in efforts to prevent the dumping of nuclear wastes on Native American tribal land.
